I m not sure if the vinyl isn t good if the lettering is too small or if the blade isn t good enough but it s starting to get frustrating.
Cricut is tearing vinyl with small font.
Realistically there may just be images that are too small or intricate to cut.
All of these cute christmas ideas i see on ornaments and glasses are super cute but i am so discouraged to cut anything with remotely small letters.
However it keeps ripping the letting.
I just feel very bitter and discouraged.
Does anyone know a fix for this.
One of the real challenges i m having is to cut reasonably small text or shapes in vinyl without lifting or tearing off the substrate.
Cricut design space comes with a few fonts but you can use all the fonts here to make magnificent cuts and crafts.
Change the size and font.
First it wasn t cutting enough and after changing the pressure settings it seems to be cutting better but ripping the vinyl.
My mom has a maker as well and all of her cuts seem to cut perfect.

The angle of the blade goes into the vinyl at a slightly different angle than the regular silhouette ratchet blade or auto blade which again prevents the vinyl from being torn.

If cutting a simple image resolves the issue try cutting the more intricate image using the custom setting for cardstock intricate cuts.
Quality of the vinyl blade sharpness speed and pressure.
If there is a lot of detail in your image or if you are using a super cute script font cursive it will only cut correctly when sized properly.
With the maker you choose your material settings through design space when using a cricut explore make sure your dial is turned to custom.
Use the contour tool to hide parts of the design that are super tiny when you are cutting the design out small.
